Lent: Six Sundays before Easter Day, of which the fifth may be called Passion Sunday and on the Sixth Sunday being Palm Sunday. Lent signifies penitence and reminds us of our Lord’s loving Kingship, dedication and self-sacrifice. COLOR: PURPLE.

Church Weekly Calendar
Today–11:00 a.m–Morning Worship Service (Children leave for Children’s Worship following Children’s message and prayer)
Wednesday–10:00 a.m–Coffee Break Bible Study. Lesson 12: “Clean Consciences” (Hebrews) ; 12:00 p.m–Craft’s Etc. Bring your brown bag lunch and your favorite craft to work on. Come enjoy the fellowship. We have a great time! ; 6:00 p.m–Family Night. Potluck; 7:00 p.m–GEMS,, Cadets, Adult Bible Study.
Thursday–6:00 p.m–Work Night on the new addition at NCCN.

We pray for marriages that God would keep us close to Him and each other; kids while they are in school and our teenagers; Church School and for all the teachers; jobs and housing; those struggling with addictions. We thank God for all those who visit us and worship with us; each other and for our supporting churches.
Today’s Offering: General Fund.
Church Potluck: On Sunday, March 14, Rev. Ben Oliviera, will be preaching for us, the Lord willing. Rev. Oliviera is from New Hampshire and is being considered by our search committee to be our next Pastor. On that Sunday, following the service, we’d like to have a potluck luncheon followed by an open discussion with Pastor Ben. This way the congregation will have an opportunity to meet with Pastor Ben and his wife who will be acconmpanying him. Mark this date on your calendar because it’s important you be there.
Membership Classes: Pastor Brian would like to meet with those individuals who desire to become members of New Community Church. If you are interested, please talk to Pastor Brian. The start date and time has not yet been determined as it depends on what time would best suit the groups schedules.
Soup’s On: During the season of Lent, the Newago Ministerial Assoc sponsors soup and bread luncheons. This semi-annual event is called “Soups On”. The event allows community members to share a meal, fellowship together and hear a devotional or meditation by a member of one of our local ministers. A free will donation is accepted at each meal, with the funds being used by the Newaygo Ministrerium to assist families in our local community.
